Gatwick Airport
Gatwick is fast becoming London’s airport of choice for many airlines especially short haul to Europe. It is well connected to central London thanks to both a conventional train (This reaches many key stations such as Kings Cross/St Pancras, Blackfriars, London Bridge) as well as a direct ‘premium’ train called the “Gatwick Express” that goes straight to London Victoria in 30 minutes.
There are lots of very early and late flights hence, sleeping at the terminal is both practical and necessary in order to save money on expensive taxis; due to the relative distance by road (over an hour’s drive) as well as the relative expense of hotel’s in central London.
IMPORTANT: There are 2 terminals at Gatwick airport:
- North terminal
- South terminal
